* In 2022 «Azione - Italia Viva - Calenda» was a single list and took 7.8%. The parties on it are polled separately today and that vote cannot be divided between them: there is no 2022 result to compare Az and IV against.

The election calendar, as the law sets it
When the vote happens

The date has not been set yet. By law the vote must fall on a Sunday, no earlier than 15 November 2026 and no later than 19 December 2027.
Why these dates
The current parliament first convened on 13 October 2022 and sits for five years.
- Art. 60 of the Constitution“The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate are elected for five years.”
- Art. 61 of the Constitution“Elections for the new chambers take place within seventy days of the end of the previous ones. They first convene no later than the twentieth day after the elections. Until the new chambers have convened, the powers of the previous ones are extended.”
- Art. 1(399), law 147/2013“From 2014 onwards, voting at elections and referendums takes place on the Sunday alone, from 7am to 11pm.”
- Art. 11, d.P.R. 361/1957“The electoral assemblies are convened by decree of the President of the Republic, on a resolution of the Council of Ministers. […] The decree is published in the Gazzetta Ufficiale no later than the 45th day before polling day.”
- Art. 88 of the Constitution“The President of the Republic may, having consulted their presiding officers, dissolve the chambers or either one of them. The President may not exercise that power in the last six months of the presidential term, unless those months coincide in whole or in part with the last six months of the legislature.”
Already fixed — AIRE electors
Anyone registered with AIRE who would rather vote in Italy than by post has to tell their consulate by 31 December 2026. It covers one election only and has to be done again each time.
That is the ordinary deadline, tied to the natural expiry of the legislature. Where the chambers are dissolved early, the deadline is instead the tenth day after the vote is called.

How to vote from abroad →The date is not fixed yet, but it is not free either: there are 58 Sundays on which the vote may legally be held, from 15 November 2026 to 19 December 2027. Whichever is chosen, the rest of the calendar locks around it at distances the law fixes.
When the vote may be held
What happens, and when
Every tick in the upper panel is a Sunday on which the vote could legally be held. They are not forecasts and none is likelier than another: they are the complete list of what the law allows today. The nearer bound moves every day, because the vote can never fall sooner than 45 days from now.
The lower panel is measured in days from polling day rather than in dates, because that sequence does not change with the date.
