What the manifestos say
The same subjects, read across every manifesto filed: what each party promises, in its own words.
These are the 2022 manifestos, the most recent filed: those for 2027 will be filed with the party symbols, no earlier than 45 days before polling day.
Search for a word in the manifestos
The PDFs filed with the ministry are nearly all photographs of printed sheets, so you cannot search inside them. We have read the text, and this box searches it for you.
We search 184,647 words, taken from 30 of the 31 manifestos filed: 7 already contained text, 23 are scans read by machine. Where a scan is not certain enough to quote, the result still says which page the word is on.
Not searchable: Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori. It was filed in a format the ministry’s own server will not serve back, so we hold no text for it.
Accents and capitals do not matter, and “cerca” also finds “cercò”. With several words we look for passages containing all of them. The manifestos are in Italian.
Passages whose words we can show come first, then the pages we can only point at; within each group, alphabetically by party and then by page. Not by “relevance”: which party best answers a word is an opinion, and not ours to give.
Passages marked as read from a scan were reconstructed by machine and may contain errors: the ministry’s PDF is the only authentic version. The text is shown as filed, with no summary and no paraphrase.

Subjects we cannot quote anyone on
The manifestos cover these, but only in scans we could not read confidently enough to quote. The page is published all the same, pointing at the exact page of the ministry’s PDF: a subject missing with no explanation would leave a reader unable to tell “nobody wrote about it” from “we could not read it”.
